AI Security
Protect the data and tools your AI can reach.
AI assistants can read information, call business tools, and start actions. We help you review those connections and put protection around the data, identities, and permissions involved.
What we address
- Identify the AI applications, agents, and business information in scope.
- Review access to Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, which connect AI applications to tools and information.
- Check how the system handles harmful instructions hidden in documents or tool responses.
- Test denied access, failed actions, and requests that need independent approval.
- Define monitoring and response requirements for the supported platforms.
What you receive
An AI access and tool map, prioritized security requirements, evaluation scenarios, and a sequenced improvement plan.
Success measures: reviewed integrations, resolved access gaps, and verified handling of approved and denied requests. Controls depend on the platform and implementation.
AI and integration terms explainedAI Governance
Agree who can use, change, and approve AI.
Give each AI use case an owner, approved uses, and clear review steps. Governance connects business decisions, data requirements, and technical controls before AI is expanded across the organization.
Agent 365 supports agent visibility, lifecycle management, and security oversight. We help map those capabilities to your inventory, ownership, and review requirements, subject to licensing and supported integrations.
What we address
- Maintain an AI inventory with business owners and risk-based review requirements.
- Agree on approved information sources, MCP servers, and tools.
- Review orchestration frameworks: the software that coordinates steps and handoffs between agents and business systems.
- Define when a person must approve an action or an exception.
- Set quality checks, release decisions, monitoring, and retirement procedures.
What you receive
An AI Governance plan, clear decision rights, control requirements, evaluation criteria, and an implementation roadmap.
Success measures: owned use cases, reviewed releases, approved integrations, and closure of priority control gaps.
Explore an AI readiness engagementThreat protection
Make security alerts easier to act on.
Bring information from identities, devices, email, and cloud applications into a coordinated response. Prioritize relevant threats and make investigation and escalation responsibilities clear.
What we address
- Review protection coverage for your important business services.
- Connect security logs and alerts, often described as security information and event management and extended detection and response (XDR).
- Improve detection rules, reduce unnecessary noise, and investigate related activity.
- Map relevant adversary behaviors to MITRE ATT&CK, use threat intelligence to prioritize scenarios, and validate detection coverage against the available evidence.
- Define response playbooks, escalation paths, and approval-controlled automation.
- Pilot Security Copilot for incident summaries, evidence interpretation, and investigation assistance. Scope connected data and permissions, validate findings with analysts, and review capacity and licensing before expanding use.
What you receive
A detection coverage map, prioritized improvement backlog, and response runbooks with clear owners. Where Security Copilot is in scope, include pilot tasks, access policies, and analyst review criteria.
Success measures: detection coverage, alert quality, time to triage, and unresolved security gaps. Establish baselines before setting improvement targets.
MITRE ATT&CK and threat intelligence explained →Identity and access
Make trust explicit.
Keep access appropriate.
Reduce the risk of excessive permissions and inconsistent authentication. Apply a Zero Trust approach to employees, guests, applications, and non-human identities, with access that reflects real business responsibilities.
Plan Entra Suite capabilities together: identity governance, identity risk protection, and secure access to private applications and internet services. Align the design with existing Entra ID licensing and your operational responsibilities.
What we address
- Authentication posture and Conditional Access policy design.
- Privileged Identity Management and least-privilege access.
- Joiner, mover, leaver workflows and periodic access reviews.
- Guest, application, and workload identity ownership and lifecycle.
A practical output
An identity risk assessment, access-policy design, staged rollout plan, and governance operating model.
Measures to agree: strong-authentication coverage, standing privileged access, and timely completion of access reviews. Test changes before broad enforcement.
Secure network access
Connect people to apps.
Not your entire network.
Move eligible user-to-application access away from broad legacy virtual private network (VPN) connectivity toward identity-aware, per-application access. Entra Private Access provides Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA); Entra Internet Access provides an identity-aware secure web gateway (SWG) for internet and software as a service traffic.
Together these Global Secure Access capabilities form part of security service edge (SSE). SSE supplies the cloud security component of a broader secure access service edge (SASE) architecture; Entra is not a replacement for every networking or software-defined wide area networking capability.
What we address
- Discover VPN use, application dependencies, protocols, and user access requirements.
- Design ZTNA policies, private network connectors, and app-specific access with Entra Private Access.
- Plan SWG traffic forwarding, web filtering, and identity-aware policies with Entra Internet Access.
- Integrate identity risk, device posture, and Conditional Access with monitoring and support procedures.
- Pilot supported scenarios, test compatibility and recovery, then retire redundant VPN access in stages.
A practical output
An application-access inventory, secure-access design, phased VPN modernization plan, policy baseline, and operational handover.
Measures to agree: applications moved to per-app access, reduced broad network access, connection reliability, policy exceptions, and support demand. Confirm client, protocol, region, and licensing support; retain required site-to-site or unsupported VPN scenarios until a suitable alternative is proven.
SASE, SSE, ZTNA, and SWG explained →Endpoint security and management
Protect the places
where work happens.
Bring device configuration, application protection, and endpoint security into a consistent management approach. Reduce gaps in access and configuration across physical devices and cloud desktops.
Microsoft 365 productivity and Windows 365 workplace delivery sit within AI Business Solutions. This capability focuses on the security baselines, protection, and response requirements for those environments.
Explore modern work and productivity →What we address
- Device enrollment, configuration baselines, and compliance policies.
- Application management and protection for supported platforms.
- Endpoint detection onboarding and security configuration review.
- Pilot rings, deployment exceptions, and device-lifecycle processes.
A practical output
A device-management blueprint, policy baseline, deployment plan, and exception-handling runbook.
Measures to agree: managed-device coverage, policy compliance, endpoint onboarding, and deployment failure rates.
Data security and compliance readiness
Protect information
wherever work takes it.
Start with how information is accessed and shared, not a policy template. Create a usable protection model for sensitive data across collaboration, analytics, and AI, with evidence that supports your assurance processes.
What we address
- Data discovery, oversharing, and data security posture review.
- Classification, sensitivity labeling, and data loss prevention.
- Insider risk policies with privacy, authorization, and role separation.
- Retention, audit, and eDiscovery requirements for supported workloads.
- Scope applicable NIST, CMMC, ISO/IEC 27001, and CJIS requirements with accountable stakeholders, then map controls to operating evidence.
A practical output
A data-risk register, classification taxonomy, prioritized policy rollout, and control-to-evidence mapping.
Measures to agree: classification coverage, overshared locations, policy exceptions, and evidence completeness. Legal and compliance owners retain regulatory interpretation.
Read the compliance readiness perspective →Cloud security
Make secure foundations
a repeatable practice.
Align cloud growth with consistent guardrails. Bring governance, posture management, workload protection, and data access into the way environments are designed, deployed, and operated.
What we address
- Azure security posture and policy-assignment consistency.
- Subscription, network, identity, and workload protection design.
- Security requirements within infrastructure and deployment workflows.
- Risk exceptions, remediation ownership, and ongoing posture review.
A practical output
A cloud control baseline, prioritized remediation plan, policy design, and an operational ownership model.
Measures to agree: critical recommendations, policy coverage, exception age, and remediation progress across an agreed asset scope.
